How Is A Department's Browsing Time Calculated?

Last Updated: Nov 08, 2015 11:57PM PST
When running Overview Reports in Fastvue Reporter, you will see the Browsing Time associated with each Department in the 'Departments by Size' section.

Rather than ‘summing’ the browsing time of each user in the department, which could potentially add up to ‘years’ of browsing for large departments, Fastvue Reporter combines all the log data for these users, then calculates browsing time on the data set as a whole.

For example, if a department has two users each browsing simultaneously for 10 minutes, the browsing time of that department will be 10 minutes, not 20.

If one user browses from 9:00am to 9:10am and the other user browses from 9:05am to 9:15am, then the total browsing time for that department will be 15 minutes, not 20 minutes.

We felt that was the most reasonable implementation when looking at departments. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to get in touch!
